How It Works
CDN Edge Node Testing
SpeedPulse runs its measurements against major global content delivery network (CDN) edge nodes. These edge nodes are distributed across the world, so your test typically hits a server close to you - giving you a realistic picture of real-world download and upload performance.
Transparent Methodology
We measure download speed by timing real data transfers, upload speed by sending real payloads, and latency (ping) by averaging multiple round-trip requests. No magic numbers - just measured throughput.
Privacy First
The test runs entirely in your browser. We don't store your test results on a server, and we don't use tracking or advertising cookies. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Understanding Your Results
Each test reports three core metrics:
- • Download speed - how fast data flows to you (streaming, browsing, downloads).
- • Upload speed - how fast data flows from you (video calls, cloud uploads, live streaming).
- • Ping (latency) - the round-trip delay, crucial for gaming and real-time apps.
