What speeds should Starlink get?
Standard residential users typically see 50-150 Mbps download, 5-25 Mbps upload and 25-60 ms latency. Results vary with dish model (Standard vs. Mini vs. Performance), obstructions, and how congested your cell is.
Why is my Starlink slow?
The most common cause is sky obstruction - trees or buildings blocking the dish. In the Starlink app, check the obstruction view. Other causes: network congestion during peak hours, heavy rain (signal fade), or being deprioritized after exceeding usage thresholds.
Is Starlink good for gaming?
It is usable but not ideal. Latency of 25-60 ms is fine for casual gaming, but jitter and brief dropouts during satellite handovers can cause stutters. Run the test a few times and watch the jitter number, not just ping.
